This espresso blend was created in 2005 when the Hayes Valley kiosk in San Francisco opened.

It is the darkest espresso among Blue Bottle Coffee's products.

When drunk as a shot, you can feel the weight, rich reddish-brown crema, and silkiness. When milk is added, the sweetness of sugared cocoa is felt, and its presence can be strongly felt in just 90ml of macchiato and 360ml of latte. Even when brewed by drip, this blend has a rounded, dark chocolate-like sweetness.

This espresso blend has a richness like dark chocolate, a creamy mouthfeel, and is reminiscent of brown sugar, making it a perfect match with milk.
